The alliance is open to three main categories of members as follows:
Ordinary Membership: This covers all for profit and non-profit making entities with a business interest in the sector, namely associations, alliances and other interest groups or initiatives, who subscribe to the mission and objectives of the Alliance.
Associate Membership: This is for individuals as well as non-profit institutions and for-profit enterprises, active in the support, promotion or development of the biogas, renewable energies, and energy efficiency sector in Uganda, who subscribe to the mission and objectives of the Alliance. This includes persons of public life, faculty of science and research as well as national and international development partners, NGOs, donors and business incubators.
Honorary membership:This applies to any individual or association who has made outstanding contributions to the Alliance or the biogas sector in Uganda is eligible for election to Honorary Membership.
